BEING SINGLE
There comes a time in your life when you start asking yourself questions; Has God forgotten me? What is happening to me? Why am I still single? You may feel the pressure to escape from loneliness, shame and mockery but you must also understand that God has good plans for you, which He will actualize in His own time! Remember, “a closed curtain doesn’t mean the production is over. Sometimes, the curtain has to close while God prepares us for the next scene”
Being single does not make you any less of who you are or any less important, and it doesn’t mean those who are in a relationship, engaged or married are in any way better than you! Perhaps your friends are getting married and you are wondering why yours is different! Sometimes, you wish you are like them, you wish people would also come celebrate with you, but all that does not matter when God is preparing someone special for you! Being single is not a status, No! It means you are strong enough to wait for what is yours. Funny enough, my friends would be like “Eva, don’t tell me you’re still single”? Oh yea! I’m a single lady, I am not stupid! Does it sound ridiculous? Well, the truth is, I prefer being single, than get myself ‘entangled’ with the wrong man. Wrong pairing kills potential and God’s blessings! Being single is not a time for you to start feeling sorry for yourself, crying or envying those in a relationship, is a time for you to get to know yourself the more; Where do you stand as a child of God? What is God’s purpose for your life as a man/woman? What are you doing now that will help prepare you for being a mother/father someday? It should be a time for you to work on the achievable goals. It should be a time to make a difference in your world. It should also be the time for you to care about the things of the Lord and how you will please Him and be holy, both in body and in spirit!
It’s not all about being engaged, married or in a relationship, it’s not all about having a partner! There are people who are married, still, they wished they had never been married, while some are engaged, but the relationship is nothing to write home about. What is it all about then? It’s about being secured, happy, safe, relieved and feeling good…it’s about having a peaceful state of mind, it’s about being with the person who will help you fulfil the God’s-ordained purpose of your life, it’s about being yourself and not someone else, it’s about feeling loved, happy, respected, appreciated and above all, it’s about the RIGHT PERSON & the RIGHT TIME! Just be patient and be faithful, for He has made everything beautiful in His time (Eccl. 3:11)
“For I know the thought that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” – Jeremiah 29:11
Your time will come too and it will be glorious, with no regrets!
